Canadian Rocky Mountains
This climbing area is located in Alberta and it has a ton of sport and trad climbing. The rock is mainly layered limestone, with a bit of quartzite. Route grades range from USA 5.3(FR 4-) to approx. USA 5.14c/d (FR 9a). The different crags exhibit various styles of climbing, from technical slab to overhangs and crimpy vertical walls.
The best places to crash would be campgrounds. In Banff Nation Park and Kananaskis, campgrounds are ubiquitous. Some can be cheaper than others, particularly if you don't need a shower and electric.
Grocery stores in Canmore, Bragg Creek, Banff and Calgary are probably your best option. Rivers in the area are clean enough to drink from without boiling the water first, though small creeks are a toss up.

I have done several scrambles, climbed a few routes at louise and grassi and went up easy street and eisenhower tower.
if you have your eye on something in the 5.4-5.8 range and need a partner, give me as much notice as possible and i will be there. I also have some glacier travel experience.

I will come to Canada on Spring 2010 for 4 months. I would like to climb mountains, indoor also, in Canada. Look for a partner who climb together and exchange the information of Canada/Japan.
