All sorts of granite climbing close to Sacramento, below the snowline and climbable all year long. Buck's Bar Dome and the north side of the river feature fantastic toprope climbs- train on everything from beginning crack (Chamberlin's Chimney 5.6) to technical face (Drastical 5.8) to awkward offwidth (Awful Width 5.8). When you need to stretch your skills more, check that the river is low enough to cross and go climb 2-3 pitches on the Gutenberger Wall.
Park off the road at the curve of Bucks Bar Road. Watch out for poison oak; snakes are present in the warmer months.
